- Client Repower
- Completion 2015
Over the course of three months ZENSE has supported the market and sales department of Repower, a Swiss energy supplier, in its strategizing process. After we had helped develop the right structure, logic and content of the new business strategy, we asked employees during a first workshop to find suitable metaphors and images. What pop cultural figure may represent the company the most accurately? Is it James Bond or Steve Jobs? And what kind of world could help us understand Repower’s visions, goals and activities a little bit better? The results from this workshop shed a new light on the company and helped everyone involved understand their department’s new strategy. Our illustrator then designed first sketches visualizing the various metaphors: a fish market, a ski resort, a multiplex theatre and a fairy tale forest.
In a second workshop, we challenged the employees to further define and enhance these drawings: And soon, customers turned into all sorts of animals, electricity was replaced by mushrooms, rotten fish or gourmet food, and the expression “customer tie” got a whole new meaning. Nothing, however, happened without a proper intellectual explanation. Finally, it was the fairy tale forest that made the race. In a third workshop it was further refined and finalized, both artistically and conceptually. So, with the exception of an incredibly gorgeous painting, what was the outcome of this collaborative strategizing process? Besides a strong increase of team cohesion, according to the company’s CMO, everyone involved developed both a mutual understanding and enthusiasm about the strategy. And what other company can claim that about itself?
